Cyril is a consultant, coach, teacher and author, and for over 20 years has been developing leaders in Ireland and internationally. He holds a M.Sc. In Work & Organisational Psychology from Dublin City University and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Henley Business School.
Having worked for many years in the airline and financial services sectors, he now designs and delivers interventions in areas such as management and leadership development and executive coaching for clients in both private and public sectors, in Ireland and abroad. As part of this work he regularly conducts assessments of capability and potential for managers and specialists of all types, using a range of tools in areas such as personality, emotional intelligence and teamwork. He also undertakes research projects in areas such as training and development needs analysis, and in particular learning evaluation and transfer from a variety of learning interventions. He has worked with the Irish Civil Service and local authorities, the European Commission, major financial services companies, as well as a range of organisations of varying sizes in Ireland and elsewhere. He is the author of Improving learning transfer: A guide to getting more out of what you put into your training (Gower, 2009) and Making sense of organisational learning: Putting theory into practice (due April 2013). He is a Certified Management Consultant, a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, a Fellow of IITD, and an associate faculty member at a number of business schools in Ireland and the UK.
